Why This Deck Was Created
Last year I sent out a survey asking witches in the community to tell me their biggest problems in their magical practice. I gathered up the top five issues. Do any of these sound familiar?
Witchcraft is so challenging to master. How do I know I’m doing my spell right and using the right tools on my altar?
Witchcraft is expensive! How am I supposed to afford all the crystals, incense sticks, cauldrons, and wands I need for spellcasting?
Witchcraft takes up too much space. I don’t have any room to store my magical tools! My closet is cluttered as it is!
Witchcraft is super time-consuming. I literally only have 5 minutes to myself in the morning before my job, family, and general life-craziness take over!
Witchcraft is straight-up overwhelming! I don’t even know where to start.
Oh yes. All of those problems are legit. I totally know. I’ve faced them all myself when I discovered that witchcraft was real and started practicing.
Witchcraft tools do take up a lot of space, and they do not travel well! I lived out of two suitcases for nearly a decade, and I cannot tell you how many times I got stopped by TSA for carrying crystals in my backpack. (Apparently, the look weird in the x-ray scanner thing? I don’t know. LOL.)
And when I researched witchcraft, I could only find janky websites from the nineties and info on religion-based magic. There were barely any witches teaching simple, secular witchcraft.
As far as time goes, my spells sometimes took hours to set up and cast. Have you ever waited for a candle to completely burn down? It’s basically an eternity. Who has time for that on a daily basis?
I believe witchcraft should be simple, convenient and quick! I knew that was the only way I’d be able to make witchcraft work with my modern life.
